Registered members will have an additional menu on the left side of the screen. Depending on your membership you will have either a Parent Menu or a Coach Menu. Below is a glimpse inside those menu options to show the full scope of membership privileges. Ask a question below if you have more questions.
Once signed up and signed in, Parents will have access to a host of functions through a menu appearing on the left panel. Below is a brief guide as to what you can do with each of these options.
- Find a Coach Registered members can view a complete list of all coaches that completed certification or are in the process of becoming certified. Search by Name, Sport, Gender, City, State, or Zip. Clicking on the profile of a coach allows you to view a more complete biography of that coach, send them a private message, or book a coaching session. Don't see a coach in your local area or in the sport you are looking for? Use the forum to put a call out for your needs. StarterCoach will actively seek new coaches in your area or sport of need. You must be registered and signed in to use the forum.
- Book a Coach When you decide to book a coach for a private session, you will first be asked to verify your contact information, and enter some basic information that will help the coach prepare a valuable coaching session. Once you select a sport you will see a list of coaches that are approved StarterCoaches for that particular sport. Choose the coach you want to hire. Then you will be able to select an available day for that coach, followed by a time. Your payment amount will be shown. If you have any applicable coupons, enter them here and select the Book Now button. You will be forwarded to a secure PayPal site to complete the transaction. After finishing your transaction you will be redirected back to StarterCoach and a receipt will be mailed to you. The coach you hired will contact you via Private Message or Phone to confirm the appointment details.
- Booking History Review all of your past sessions, when they occurred, who they were with. Always have at your fingertips an online record of what and how many sessions you have booked, confirmed, canceled, and completed.
- Profile Management Coaches never see any list of registered parents. Your personal information may be used when booking coaching sessions, but may also be changed at the time of booking. Uploading a picture is completely optional. The profile management is primarily a feature for coaches to use, but parents may have greater input in the StarterCoach community in the future.
- Messages Parents and coaches can exchange messages with one another within the StarterCoach environment. This is a great way for a parent to ask specific questions of a coach being considered for hire. Coaches can use this messaging system to provide reports to parents after completing a session.
- Forum The forum is a place where everybody gets to hear everything. Parents are encouraged to leave reviews of coaches they have used. Each coach has their own forum section. You can also see answers to other issues that you may be having. Maybe something on the website isn't working right or you are in need of a coach in a particular area. Let everyone know about it. Only registered members have access to the forum.
As a registered coach you will have a new menu appear on the left panel of your screen once signed in. The menu items provide coaches a unique set of tools to help communicate with parents, manage schedules, and file reports.
- Bookings This area is where you will see all coaching sessions booked for you by parents. You can adjust your available hours, change your mobile number to receive automatic reminders, review completed sessions, and more.
- Profile Coaches will be able to manage and edit their profile information visible to interested parent. Upload a photo of yourself, review your forum postings, or change your contact information.
- Certification StarterCoach.com is equipped with a fully functional SCORM compliant Learning Management System. Coaches are automatically enrolled in the appropriate courses once registered. Coaches are required to complete all necessary certification modules before being shown on the available list for parents to hire.
- Forum Each coach will be assigned their own Forum category for comments from parents. Think of it like our quality control. Parents considering you for hire will be able to read comments from other parents about your coaching services. Parents who have hired you are highly encouraged to add comments (favorable or not). As a coach you are encouraged to participate, moderate, and let other parents know more about you through your forum posts. The forum is also a place to ask questions about the website, suggest new site features, and find answers to problems you may be having.
- Messages Coaches (and parents) have a private message system available to them for communicating outside of the forums, blog entries, and bookings. Messages can be sent with images and file attachments.
- Blog The Coaches Edge is the blog of StarterCoach. Every coach will have the ability to submit their own blog entries in their own name. This blog is sent automatically in an RSS feed to numerous feed readers around the web including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and many others. This is a great way to get yourself published, increase traffic to the site, interact with readers, and add to your already significant community presence.
